"The 42nd Confartigianato Motori Award to the protagonists of Formula 1"
30 aug. 2023
In the context of the Italian Grand Prix, the historic Confartigianato Motori Award makes a return for its 42nd edition. Today, at the Monza Autodrome—where the single-seaters will compete throughout the long race weekend—the awards were presented to honor the champions and professionals from the F1 world.
There are a total of eleven trophies for the 2024 edition, including the "Technology and Environment" Award in collaboration with the Parco Valle Lambro, as well as a special recognition for two companies in the auto repair sector associated with Apa Confartigianato Imprese. The event was hosted by sports journalist Camilla Ronchi.
"With the Confartigianato Motori Award, we pay homage to the champions of F1 and, together, to the 'champions' of Italian craftsmanship, to the entrepreneurs who contribute to creating excellence in products and services and achieving the economic milestones of our country. Starting with the thousands of auto repairers who, every day, face the challenges of quality, safety, and innovation in their workshops. Many values unite the worlds of F1 and craftsmanship and small enterprises: talent, passion for one's work, striving for excellence at all costs until perfection, love for tradition, and a shared ability to renew themselves to create cutting-edge technological solutions. All of this is made in Italy; it is our pride and our strength to keep racing toward the most important finish line: ensuring the future of our businesses and the entire country," said Marco Granelli, President of Confartigianato Imprese.
"The Confartigianato Motori Award," continued Alessandro Angelone, President of Confartigianato Autoriparazione, "symbolizes the deep connection between the hyper-technological world of Formula 1 and the world of motor craftsmen. In line with the traditional, emblematic guiding theme of the Award 'From Racing to the Road,' the event highlights the craftsmanship and excellence of a sector that is rooted in Italian manufacturing tradition and challenges the future through a commitment to technological innovation. Our auto repairers are, in fact, among those responsible for the high performance and success of the single-seaters on the tracks, but, above all, in their everyday capacity, they provide a public utility service, working to ensure the efficiency of vehicles and the safety of motorists, meeting their mobility needs and providing timely and effective responses, always keeping pace with technological advances in cars and the evolution of the market. The daily commitment of our auto repairers," emphasized Angelone, "is also aimed at respecting the environment with the concrete goal of promoting increasingly sustainable mobility."

Awards Honoring Brianza Craftsmanship
All the awards were crafted by the skilled artisans from Brianza. The iconic disk trophy consists of a circular base made of transparent plexiglass, with eight disks made of different materials (iron, wood, carbon, glass, plastic, stone, copper, aluminum) stacked and rotated at the base by 45°, representing, in summary, the materials used by artisan companies. The circular design symbolizes harmony, as the circle is a perfect geometric figure, free of angles and edges. The following companies, associated with Apa Confartigianato, participated in creating the Award: Materie Plastiche Paolillo (Palazzolo Milanese), Figini (Cesano), and Gislon (Lissone).
"With these awards, Brianza proves to be a land of talent and creativity," commented Giovanni Mantegazza, President of Apa Confartigianato Imprese. "For some years now, Confartigianato Motori has been focusing—also physically with the trophies—on the artisanal skills of our companies: the now-iconic disk awards are created 'locally,' from some of the businesses associated with the System, which infuse passion and dedication into creating objects that are true works of art. Furthermore, by awarding two recognitions to companies from the auto repair sector, we affirm a concept important to us: the connection between the F1 world and local artisan businesses, which is where industry innovations reach our daily lives."
